WHY WE WRITE THESE
The questions we answer before anyone asks for a quote
Most of the decisions on this page come up during a walkthrough, and we end up explaining the same tradeoffs from scratch each time. So we wrote them down. Every comparison here is a real question customers ask us — whether to put a space on a recurring schedule or book a one-time deep clean, whether to hire a cleaner or contract a company, whether a job is worth doing yourself.
These are written to be genuinely useful even if you never hire us. Each one is marked educational rather than a sales pitch, and the recommendation on most of them is honestly it depends — because it usually does. Where one option is clearly better for a particular situation, we say so, including when that option isn't us. The in-house comparison makes the real case for putting someone on your own payroll, and the window cleaning one says plainly that ground-floor interior glass is a reasonable afternoon's work on your own.
If the decision you're weighing isn't here, tell us what's on the table and we'll give you the honest side-by-side — and probably add it to this page.
Available comparisons
-
DIY vs PROFESSIONAL
DIY vs. Professional Window Cleaning
Ground-floor interior glass is genuinely a reasonable DIY job; the case for hiring someone is height, exterior buildup, and screens — the parts where the risk and the equipment gap are real.
-
IN-HOUSE vs CONTRACTED
Hiring an In-House Cleaner vs. Contracting a Cleaning Service
An in-house cleaner gives you direct control and constant on-site presence; a contracted company shifts payroll, equipment, insurance, and coverage-when-someone-is-out off your plate.
-
RECURRING vs DEEP CLEAN
Recurring Cleaning vs. a One-Time Deep Clean
Recurring cleaning maintains a baseline you never fall below; a deep clean resets a space once, going after the buildup a maintenance visit intentionally skips.
